Our Approach

At The Matthew Reardon Center for Autism (MRCA), we believe that every child with autism has the ability to learn, grow, and thrive when provided with the right environment and support. Advance Academy is built on an educational model that blends individualized academics, life skills instruction, social-emotional learning, and therapeutic collaboration.

Individualized LearningNo two students learn the same way. At Advance Academy, each child receives a personalized plan that reflects their strengths, challenges, and goals. Classrooms operate with a 3:1 student-to-staff ratio, ensuring that students receive the individualized instruction and support they need to succeed.
Year-Round ConsistencyBecause our program runs year-round, students benefit from consistent routines and supports that prevent regression during long breaks. This structure is especially important for children with autism, providing stability and opportunities for steady growth all year long.
Integrated TherapiesAdvance Academy incorporates speech/language and occupational therapy consultative services that collaborate closely with teachers. This integrated model ensures that therapy strategies are reinforced in daily classroom activities, supporting communication, motor skills, and independence throughout the school day.
Building the Whole ChildOur approach goes beyond academics. We focus on helping students develop critical life skills, social connections, and self-advocacy. By working in partnership with families, we prepare students not just for the classroom, but for lifelong success.
Evidence-Informed PracticesOur teaching is guided by evidence-informed strategies, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles woven into classroom routines. While we do not provide 1:1 ABA therapy, we use ABA-based supports to strengthen communication, reduce barriers to learning, and promote positive behavior.
